Here's a first look at the Official San Diego Comic-Con's Godzilla poster for the 2014 reboot by Legendary Pictures. The Comic-con starts on Wednesday, July 17, this week. The poster depicts the image of Godzilla in the wreckage of destroyed buildings. Looking at it, one can't help but be reminded of the debris in the aftermath of the World Trade Center Attacks. The new movie is said to "grounded" an "realistic" and Godzilla will be a "dark force of nature".
In a video message, Director Gareth Edwards has already hinted "something big" is coming to San Diego. There will be a presentation by legendary and a trailer is expected. Recently, we've seen the launching of a viral website, Godzilla Encounters by Legendary with fictitious news bulletins to build hype for the movie. All of this is coming on the heels of the release of Legendary's Pacific Rim that pays homage Japanese giant monster movies and anime. Expect more "big" news soon.
Godzilla stomps into theaters May 16, 2014.
