Godzilla: The Art of Destruction Book Trailer

Below is a newly released trailer for the book, Godzilla: The Art of Destruction by Mark Cotta Vaz. This in-depth book chronicles the making of Legendary Pictures Godzilla reboot with director Gareth Edwards. It features lots of concept art and behind-the-scenes development.

Here's the official description:

Published to coincide with the release of Warner Bros. and Legendary’s Godzilla, directed by Gareth Edwards, this visually stunning book presents an extraordinary new vision for the beloved character through a dynamic selection of concept illustrations, sketches, storyboards, and other pre-production materials. Godzilla: The Art of Destruction is the definitive book on one of the most anticipated films of 2014. Featuring interviews with the director and key crew and cast members, the book tells the complete story of the making of Godzilla from concept to final frames. Comprehensive and enthralling, Godzilla: The Art of Destruction is a book that no fan will want to be without.

Review

Art of Destruction provides a glimpse at how the filmmakers envisioned the chaos and devastation they wanted their film to encompass. From what we’ve seen from the finished product, they did a hell of a job translating the ideas from page to screen. Even the cover of this book is freaking epic.”
Giant Freakin Robot

Below is a cool image from the book, showing Godzilla trapped in the ice. There's also another image from the trailer showing a nuclear submarine perched upside down in the mountains. I hope we see these shots in the movie. Get your copy of this awesome book, today!

Godzilla 2014 3D Spot with New Footage!

Here's an absolutely amazing short Godzilla 2014 featurette (Spanish sub-titled)with director Gareth Edwards and others on how they converted the film into 3D and that Edwards said it was better than shooting the movie first in 3D because you have more control afterwards.

But most excitingly, the spot features new footage we haven't seen before, especially of Godzilla swimming  toward naval ships in the ocean with his huge spines and tail coming up. Later, there's an aerial shot of Godzilla swimming with ships on both sides like an escort. There are also shots of Muto's feet dwarfing soldiers beneath as it walks.

I can't wait!

Godzilla 2014 B-roll Footage Video

Here's a new video of B-roll (rough cut, raw, alternative) footage from the new Godzilla film by Legendary Pictures. It shows behind the scenes or unused clips. You can see the cast cutting loose, joking around, or Director Gareth Edwards giving actors some tips. The anticipation is building in the last week before the movie opens on May 16. Enjoy.

M.U.T.O. Video Clip

Here's a cool video clip from the movie showing General David Strathairn telling us that M.U.T.O. actually means; Massive Unidentified Terrestrial Organism. Not exactly the best of acronyms for a monster, but we'll take it. We see a good shot of the flying, bat-like Muto on the monitor. I'm ure we'll see extra-terrestial monsters in future sequels like King Ghidorah, I hope. In that case, they'll need a new acronym. M.U.E.O. doesn't sound so good. Cool clip though. Can't wait!

Godzilla 2014 FIAT Car Commercial

Here's a cool T.V. car commercial for FIAT with Godzilla who wants to "eat Italian" munching on cars, but the new FIAT is a little too big to swallow. It's funny, but the effects are fantastic. Check it out!

Godzilla 2014 vs. Pacific Rim Movie Trailer

Here's a really cool, fan-made trailer for a Godzilla 2014/Pacific Rim crossover movie called "Ring of Fire". It uses footage from both Pacific Rim and Godzilla trailers and is really good. However, you might like to read this:
4 Reasons a Pacific Rim/Godzilla Crossover is a Bad Idea

We've seen crossover fan-art and we'll probably see it in the comics. What might be.

Incredible Godzilla 2014 "Let Them Fight!" Video Clip

Godzilla vs. Muto

This is an absolutely incredible video clip from the new Godzilla 2014 movie. It features Ken Watanabe and shows us why he is so important to the story. The military has obviously been unable to stop the monsters, so they are going with Watanabe's plan to let Godzilla and Muto battle each other. David Strathairn's General speaks to Watanabe and says:

"This Alpha Predator of yours Dr., Do you really think he has a chance?" Watanabe then gives his already famous quote from the movie,

"The arrogance of man is thinking nature is in our control and not the other way around."

and then...

"Let them fight!"

Then we see Muto flying through sky scrapers and Godzilla rising between the buildings to take on the challenger. You can see it in Godzilla's eyes;

"Bring it on!"

This will be the biggest movie of the summer!

"Godzilla Rising" Video Clip

Here are some full view stills from the new Godzilla 2014 movie. They come from an incredible video shot of Godzilla rising up in a cityscape. My guess is he just got knocked down by Muto and is getting back up. Click the link at the bottom to see the looped video clip. Amazing!!!

Godzilla 2014 Muto Roar Video

In the new Godzilla 2014 reboot, Godzilla fights all new Muto monsters, ancient enemies of Godzilla from his same geological time period as Godzilla himself. There are 8 legged Mutos which are reminiscent of the bugs from Starship Troopers or the Cloverfield monster. Actually, now that I think about it, the head reminds me a little of Gayos from the Gamera films. There are also winged Mutos that we've only seen glimpses of.

Godzlla's roar was released with the trailers long ago, but recently, Legendary released the Muto's roar through their viral website, Mutoresearch.net. Here's a video with the roar repeated with stills of the Mutos from the trailers. It's not as scary as Godzilla's, but matches the look of the creature.

Godzilla 2014 TV Spot Trailers

There have been many new TV spots for the new Legendary Pictures Godzilla film online. They reveal a lot more of the story and images of Godzilla and his deadly monster opponents, the MUTOs. I love the images of Godzilla in Chinatown and his giant foot coming down at the airport. Check these out!

Godzilla New Trailer #5

Godzilla 2014 International Trailer Online

Recently, there have been a slew of new Godzilla 2014 trailers and TV spots online. Here's the official Godzilla International trailer. It staets with Bryan Cranston telling us the Government is hiding somethng and he needs to, "prove that it's real". Also we see Ken Watanabe saying, "The arrogance of man is thinking nature is in our control...and not the other way around." We see a brief shot of Godzilla advancing on Chinatown in San Fransisco. My favorite shot is the reflection of Godzilla's dorsal plates in the school bus windows as the kids look on. I can't wait for this movie.

Godzilla 2014 Official Main Trailer Online!!

Well Godzilla fans, the months of waiting are over since the first official trailer. The Godzilla 2014 official main trailer was recently released. We get to hear Bryan Cranston talking about something big that the government was hiding that could, "Send us back to the stone age." Later Ken Watanabe gives us a little back story, that in 1954, "We awakened something.", and about the 1950's nuclear tests, "They were trying to kill it." We also see lots of destruction with Godzilla's spines emerging from the water. Aaron-Taylor Johnson asks, "Can you kill it?". We see Watanabe walking through the remains of a gigantic skeleton. He gives us the movie's theme with the line, "The arrogance of man is thinking that nature is in our control....and not the other way around." We also get glimpses of Godzilla's new foes, the MUTO monsters. We see the spiked leg of one, somewhat reminiscent of the insect monsters from Starship Troopers, and one with wings plummeting into the ocean. The last moments, we get a front glimpse of Godzilla's face. It kind of reminds me of the CGI Godzilla from the scene in Always 2. This movie will be a monster hit. See for yourself.

Hacked M.U.T.O. Site Video

Here's a cool M.U.T.O. viral site video courtesy of Universe G. There isn't much to go on. The audio goes in and out. It just teases you, but the person talking describes: a caterpillar like creature with at least 4 legs. Scientists are "confused". Watch for yourself. Thanks to Damian Bravo

M.U.T.O. Viral Site Tricks and Videos

Earlier today, the new M.U.T.O. viral website was launched by Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures tantalizing us with confusing clues and cryptic messages. It's similar to the viral site they made for Pacific Rim.

The site looks like you are accessing classified military information. Then a video comes on and plays. You  can briefly see soldiers in a military compound near a huge radiation door. Later, there is a M.U.T.O. Console where you can type in keywords and get different responses. For example, if you type in the name "Godzilla" or any other Toho Kaiju, it says;
"SYSTEM CANNOT CONFIRM OR DENY THE EXISTANCE OF THIS LIFEFORM".

Or, if you type, "Serizawa", the Dr. from the original Gojira and also the hidden message from the Godzilla Encounter site, it says Welcome back Dr. Serizawa and says recovery mode has backed up your draft in progress. Also, if you type actor Ken Watanabe, it asks you, "Did you mean Serizawa?" Watanabe seems to be playing the Dr. by that name. Is Serizawa working for M.U.T.O.? The site is fun for a while, but gets frustrating. I'm sure it will be changing and updating regularly from now and after the trailer. Stay tuned and check out the videos below.

Stay tuned in here for the new trailer and developments.

Godzilla 2014 Leaked Teaser Trailer now back in HD

Thanks to a article by Dread Central, we know have the 1st leaked Godzilla 2014 teaser trailer back online in HD. This one isn't from Youtube, but rival Metacafe. This is much higher quality than the trailer I posted before. Of course, it's only a week until the official trailer is released with The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, bu let's enjoy it until then.

Godzilla 2014 Trailer Confirmation and Details

After being disappointed twice, first on Nov. 3rd, Godzilla Day, and then for Thor 2, we can now say with 100% confidence that the Godzilla 2014 Trailer will be released next week, attached to The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. And not only that, but we have a few tasty morels of leaked info on the trailer.

First, as reported over at the great new site, Godzilla Fans Universe G, the Alberta Films Rating Organization officially listed the Godzilla 2014 trailer on it's website. The trailer, distributed by Warner Bros. has a running time of 2 minutes, 12 seconds and is rated PG according to the Canadian system.

Secondly, Damian Bravo, editor of Godzilla Fans Universe G released a video with news that a theater worker claims to have seen new Godzilla trailer on a message posted on IMDB(Internet Movie Database). Click the link above to read the full message This is spoiler information and keep in mind, it is unconfirmed. Basically, he describes the trailer as very similar to the 2nd leaked Godzilla trailer that starts with star Arron Taylor-Johnson as part of a special forces team making a halo jump from an airplane into a cloud covered city. What's new are scenes of Godzilla seen from above by the parachuters and Godzilla attacking and stepping on a train. Perhaps the same train from the 1st leaked Godzilla trailer. This information is all very questionable, but we'll find out for certain next weekend with The Hobbit 2. I can't wait. Watch the video for yourself.

Hitler Complains About Godzilla 2014 Marketing

Here's a hilarious video about Hitler complaining how partner Warner Bros. is promoting Legendary Pictures Godzilla reboot. It pretty much sums up fans frustration, including my own about the marketing strategy or lack there of on Warner Bros. part. Many fans, myself included had believed rumors there would be a trailer released online on Nov. 3rd, Godzilla Day and the 59th anniversary of the release of the original Gojira. That didn't happen. Then there were rumors that the trailer would be released with Thor 2: The Dark World. That didn't happen either. It was reported that Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures(especially CEO Thomas Tull) had a falling out and are parting company. This may be one of the last big pictures the studios collaborate on. I'm just speculating, but I wonder if Legendary, or Gareth Edwards himself was responsible for the two leaked trailers that appeared online earlier this year: Leaked Trailer #1, Leaked Trailer #2. Personally, I believe they lost valuable hype building opportunities.

However, it is confirmed that the Official Godzilla 2014 trailer WILL be released with The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug on Friday Dec. 13(about one week from now). Anyway, until then enjoy Hitler's rant.

Time Lapse Map of Every Nuclear Explosion Ever on Earth

Time to get serious for a moment. We know Godzilla is a nuclear metaphor, but maybe it's important to put this into perspective. This is from the site Memolition. It's a surreal and very sobering video by Japanese artist Isao Hashimoto showing a  time lapse world map of every nuclear explosion in history from 1945 to 1998 by the 7 nuclear power nations, The United Stated, Russia, Great Britain, France, China, India, and Pakistan. Give you one guess as who did the most. I had no idea there had been so many at 2053. Some years in the early 60's or late 70's it just goes crazy. Makes you wonder how the human race has survived this long. Godzilla is fiction, this is not.
