The apparently photo shy( it was virtually impossible to find a picture of this guy) Brian Rogers is producer on Legendary Pictures Godzilla 2014 film. He's also probably the one man most personally responsible for bringing a new American Godzilla movie to fruition. The American producer spent years trying to develop a new Godzilla project. Several years ago he met Yoshimitsu Banno who had been company director at Toho studio for 35 years and was the director of Godzilla vs. Hedorah, a.k.a. Godzilla vs. the Smog Monster. Banno was responsible for the "flying" Godzilla scene . The infamous, yet rather silly scene angered Godzilla creator Tomoyuki Tanaka and got Banno banned from future Godzilla projects. Yet when he met Rogers, Banno had the rights to make an IMAX 3D Godzilla project, something which never got made. In 2007, they went back to Toho and spent a huge amount of time negotiating the licencing agreement to make a 3D Godzilla project. After that, Rogers and his partners went shopping around for studios and Legendary Pictures stepped forward. Rogers is producing along with Legendary CEO and Chairman Thomas Tull, Jon Jashni, Dan Lin, and Roy Lee. Warner Bros. is co-producing.
More recently Rogers was 3D effects Production Supervisor for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. Before this Rogers was visual effects supervisor or producer for many films, but no big name movies.
